Get a head-start on the road to your future career and pick up skills along the way

TVET courses can be studied in Year 11 and allow students the opportunity while still at school, to build the foundation skills required for work and further study whilst discovering talents and skills.  There is a diverse range of TVET possibilities that students can study.

At the beginning of this year I chose to do TVET subject –  Tourism, Travel and Events. This course involves learning about the Tourism and Event industry. A requirement of the course is to do work placement and I was lucky enough to spend a week at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Show. I assisted with tasks such as setting up and packing down all shows, organising models, placements in the show, introducing VIPS, organising gift bags and handling tickets. It was such a great experience to learn about backstage and such an eye opening experience. This course gives me the opportunity to boost my future career path into the Event Management industry.
