Adventures Preschool 2021 Targeted Traineeship Opportunity
The following traineeship is being offered to students in the local community who are leaving school at the end of 2020. Interested Year 12 2020 students should complete the attached application form and return it to Adventures Preschool to express their interest in this traineeship.

Children’s Services Traineeship – Certificate III for 2021. This position allows the employee to work full time whilst receiving on the job training through an accredited training organisation. The position is for a period of 12 months, which includes four weeks paid annual leave.
This position would suit a student who may have an interest in Early Childhood Education. Mt Colah Preschool prefers for the applicant to be over 18 years of age however younger applicants would be considered if they can demonstrate a strong interest in this vocation.

Year 11 lunchtime sessions
Careers are running information sessions at lunchtime at school over the coming weeks. These sessions detail the university processes which are more time consuming/have additional requirements.

Tailored Careers Support for School Leavers
The Australian Government has just released a new targeted support package for young people which aims to help to tackle the uncertainty around leaving school and choosing the right career pathway. The National Careers Institute (NCI) has launched the School Leavers Information Kit and the School Leavers Information Service.
Reading some careers stories in teaching could help you decide if it’s an option worth investigating a bit more. You could choose to teach in early childhood education, primary, secondary, senior high school, tertiary education (university and TAFE), or adult education. Whichever your choice, teaching is a job that can offer job security and growth.

Those attending our Open Day will have a chance to go on a first flight lesson and take over the controls, try a drone or aircraft simulator, attend a free Pilot Career Seminar hosted by the CSO or CEO, go on a campus tour, meet alumni & students and more.

Art and Design degrees at TAFE
HSC students who have completed art and design subjects should consider enrolling in a TAFE NSW bachelor degree in fashion design, interior design, creative practice or 3D art and animation With small classes taught in a studio based environment, students develop creative skills while at the same time developing the business skills employers are looking for.

AFTRS’ Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production has been developed in response to the needs of employers across the sector. The film, television and creative industries are looking for multi-skilled content creators who are comfortable working in a variety of key creative roles and have the ability to produce content across multiple platforms.

Engineering Guaranteed Entry (GE) Changes and Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS)
To recognise the hard work and resilience of students throughout COVID-19 and to maximise their educational opportunities, the Guaranteed Entry (GE) rank for most Engineering degrees at UNSW has been adjusted from 93 to 91 for 2021 admission. Applications are also open for the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS) which considers students’ aptitude for engineering.
Find your way into ACU with the new ACU Foundation Studies!
The new Foundation Studies program is a pathway into all ACU undergraduate degrees on offer in 2022. This free program is currently offered to domestic students at the Blacktown Campus, but acts as a pathway to degrees at any ACU campus provided you meet minimum GPA requirements of your chosen course.
