On Friday 20 March ex-student Clodagh Bray (Class of 2018) will be back to talk about taking a gap year and volunteering overseas. Clodagh spent 2019 in Canada volunteering at an outdoor camp and is keen to spread the word!

App developers are computer software engineers. They use their skills to design, create, test, fault find, debug and install apps for computer systems, mobile phones and other types of electronic gadgetry. Apps are tools that help users to perform functions, jobs, tasks or even play games.

ANU direct applications now open for 2021

If you’re a current Year 12 domestic student looking to study at the Australian National University in 2021, they’re now accepting direct applications.

If you’re sure that’s where you’d like to study, you can submit an application and not have to stress about it later in the year.

Even better: you could receive an early conditional offer on 10 August and know that as long as you keep working hard and achieve your predicted ATAR score, you’ll be studying at ANU next year.

CO-OP SCHOLARSHIPS

Please click here to access the information for Co-op Scholarships, Australia wide, which are open to year 12 students who are planning to study specific disciplines, including Accounting, Business, Education, Engineering and Computing.

Please note Co-op scholarships differ from ‘general’ scholarships.

Generally, a Co-op scholarship program combines a single degree alongside industry experience, leadership and/or professional development, networking, mentoring, financial support, friends and fun!

Co-op programs vary according to each individual Tertiary Institution, however they are a fabulous career development scholarship that develops you into professionals, not just graduates at the end of their university degree.

University of Newcastle Ma & Morley Scholarship Program

Value: Up to $15,000 per year

Open/Closing Dates: August 1, 2020 – November 30, 2020

The Ma & Morley Scholarship Program is a transformative experience offered to students of the University of Newcastle who want to change the world.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria plus others:

Demonstrate one of the following:

  • Identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be recognised as such within your community;
  • Meeting Government educational disadvantage criteria (Carer responsibilities, sole parent responsibilities, financial hardship, Indigenous Australian, long term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse, Refugee status, Regional or remote disadvantage)
  • Academic achievement by achieving a selection rank (adjusted ATAR) of 90 or above OR demonstrate academic achievement by achieving an Admissions Rank (ATAR equivalent) in top 10% of commencing cohort if coming from an enabling pathway
