Footnotes – An exciting new website for students and their parents

While life after school seems very far away, the Footnotes website offers great insight and guidance. Pioneered and developed by two Loreto Normanhurst ex-students – Samantha Devlin (2009) and Sarah Warmoll (2009), the Footnotes website brings together recommendations, inspiring stories and articles that will help shape your decisions for after school. From which industry you’ll like, to which course or university that will get you there.

Samantha and Sarah are inviting all students and parents to register and check out their site.

Year 10 Subject Selection at Loreto Normanhurst

Whilst the process of choosing subjects for Year 11 and 12 can be daunting for many students there are a number of steps in place to assist, clarify and guide students through the process and address any concerns or issues both you and your daughters may have.

Step 1 On June 6 and June 7 Heads of Department will talk to Year 10 about subjects.

Step 2 Students will receive a subject selection booklet which outlines all the possible courses on offer, including TAFE options.

Step 3 A Subject Selection Information Evening for Parents with students is on Tuesday June 14.  The HSC and preliminary course will be explained and the Heads of Departments and Tafe representatives will be available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Step 4 Student Interview with the Learning and Careers Team to review choices before submission in Term 3.

Would you like to speak to a Careers Advisor?

The Careers Office is open to all students in all years.  We are usually in the office before and after school, and at recess and lunch.  Girls are most welcome to drop in but at times we can be busy with students, so the best thing to do is to send an email indicating your availability or drop in with your diary to schedule a time.
