Why go to university-based days? Attend Open Days?
Immersing yourself in programs run at university and other higher education institutions can be beneficial and help you to find your future path.
Isabella Stewart, a Year 11 student recently attended the Macquarie-in-a-Day experience and below is a review of what she thought.
“Macquarie-in-a-Day is a fantastic way to experience what it could be like for you, as a student at Macquarie University. Despite what I thought, the day was nothing like what you may experience at an Open Day where you are talked to about a million different things. The first hour or two of the day consisted of a great presentation from two Psychology students who told us all about their exchange experiences and overall involvement so far at Macquarie, as well as ways to get into university and apply for scholarships – with some wild karaoke on the side! Throughout the day we were split into different streams (chosen upon registration). I took part in the Medicine and Health stream, were I was told about the undergraduate course structure and postgraduate option and shown various learning areas such as the Macquarie Hospital, Simulation Labs, Physiotherapy Practical Gyms and more, with a few Kahoot Quizzes along the way. After this I was able to really experience student life in the common area where there are endless possibilities for lunch and a tour of the campus including student spaces for study, the library, the gymnasium, pool and more. I would highly recommend current Year 10 and Year 11 students to sign up for next year to experience Macquarie-in-a-Day.”

Business Cadetship applications close soon
For Year 12 students who wish to enter the business world, why wait until you finish university to start your career? Apply for a cadetship under the Business Cadetships Program.
Business Cadets combine study at the university of their choice with paid work at UBS in Sydney, a top-ranking global bank. Cadets may choose from a wide range of degrees, including economics, commerce, the humanities, mathematics and computer science & technology.
