NSW All Schools Triathlon championships

Congratulations to all students who competed at the NSW All Schools Triathlon Championships on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Loreto Normanhurst was the largest participating school on the day of the team’s events – how fantastic! Representing Loreto Normanhurst were eight individual entries, 11 junior teams, 26 intermediate teams, and six senior teams.

Highlights from the event include:

Individual Event
Gabriella Black (Year 11) placed 18th overall, and 8th within CIS schools in the Senior division

Junior Division
Zara Warland (Year 8) – Swim
Arabella Price (Year 8) – Bike
Georgia Arcus (Year 9) – Run
This team placed 5th overall, and 3rd within CIS schools

Senior Division
Breanna Ivankovic (Year 11) – Swim
Charlotte Ryan (Year 11) – Bike
Gabriella Black (Year 11) – Run
This team placed 2nd overall, and 1st within CIS schools

 

Water Polo

Congratulations to Clare Doherty (Year 8) who has been selected to compete in the National U14 Water Polo Competition in Aubury/Wodonga later this month.

 

Rowing Head of the River

Good luck to all rowers competing at the Schoolgirls Head of the River this Saturday. Congratulations to all girls on an outstanding two terms of rowing – enjoy this last regatta of the 2017/2018 season! Racing will commence at 7:48am, with the last race at 1:00pm. We’d love to see as many supporters attend the regatta, so please come along for what will be a wonderful day of racing.

Venue – Sydney International Regatta Centre, Old Castlereagh Rd, Penrith
Loreto Normanhurst will have a marquee set up on the course and we welcome all supporters to join the Normo community there.

Softball

Good luck to Bailey Henderson (Year 10) who will be representing Loreto Normanhurst and IGSSA at the CIS Softball team trials this evening.

– North Sydney & Beaches U15 1st Rep Hockey Team – second at State Championships in Tamworth 2017
– North Shore 1st Rep Softball team every year since 2012
– IGSSA Softball Team 2018
– Senior Firsts Softball – Loreto

Best moment of Loreto Sport for you: making the invitational race at Loreto Athletics last year in Year 9.

Favourite sporting moment as a spectator: watching live sport at famous stadiums (Yankee Stadium, Wimbledon, Wembley, Twickenham, MCG, SCG).

Best subject at school: Food Technology.

Any superstitions before playing sport: I always put my boots on in the car on the way.

Best tune to listen to before competing: any Taylor Swift song.
