That’s a WRAP for Wrap with Love

It has been an amazing knitting season here at Loreto Normanhurst. Our students and staff have embraced the challenge of knitting and creating blankets for those who most need warmth and comfort in our country. Together we have knitted enough squares to make 14 completed blankets and there are many, many individual squares left over. This is an incredible feat and something for us all to be proud of.

Our Wrap with Love Modern Family Knit Ins during Term 2 were the place to be on those cold and wet days. We had experienced knitters spreading their knowledge to other students, we had people getting in tangles whilst they valiantly tried to master their new skill and we even had a few broken needles due to some overexcited knitters. We hope to continue this tradition in the years to come and involve more and more of our community.

During our Staff Spirituality Day, a dedicated team of knitters brought their yarn and needles and click clacked the day away, making the squares into blankets and finishing off any unfinished squares. Finally, at every single JPIC meeting during Term 2 and 3, our members knitted their way whilst planning upcoming events and social justice campaigns.

A huge thank you on behalf of the Mission Team for all of you who contributed to this wonderful cause. Keep knitting and dropping in squares, and we will add them to next year’s collection!
