From the Co-Presidents:

What a difference a week makes, as all families begin to settle back into old and new school routines. Don’t forget to mark relevant dates and times into your diaries from the school calendar for significant events taking place across this year. The links provided within the Development Office Events section of this newsletter certainly make the RSVP process very easy for the relevant Year Group ‘Information Nights and Welcome Drinks’ which are fast approaching. To make sure you don’t miss out, use the link to RSVP.

VOLUNTEERING: WHY NOT CONSIDER JOINING US AS A PARENT CO-ORDINATOR FOR 2016?

We would like to encourage any parent interested in becoming a Year Parent Co-Ordinator to consider joining us for a brief meeting (no more than 30 minutes) just prior to our PAL General Meeting onWednesday 24 February at 6.45 pm in Room 1.02. New or existing parents, ALL ARE WELCOME to come along and hear a few more details about these roles. One of our key objectives for this meeting is to alleviate any concerns about how much time or work is required in this volunteer position. Essentially the role is about continuing to foster and build strong relationships within our parent community. The co-ordinator’s role can be as simple as a few phone calls or emails each term to stay in touch with other parents from a particular Year Group and House to ensure they are up to date with what is happening with PAL. It is also a great way to inform parents about the upcoming functions and events which they may like to become involved with. Please think about joining us on 24th February if you can, or alternatively, send Louise and/or myself an email to express your interest in the role and we will send out further details to you via email and update you post the meeting on 24th February.

VALUE OF FELICITY & PAL 2016:

Ms Watkins challenged all of us last week to “grapple with the Value of Felicity” reminding us that Mary Ward spoke of being ….A cheerful giver…. And of a Cheerful mind, and the Loreto Mission Statement indicated Felicity;

….offers challenge to adults in the school community as well as students

…. is nourished by fun and celebration

We would like to think we keep this at the heart of everything we do in PAL in 2016.  Ensuring all that we organise is nourished by fun and celebration with a genuine spirit of friendship and collaboration across the parent community.
