Relay for Life

Last Saturday night the school choir, conducted by Mrs Karen Bruce, performed at the Relay for Life, a fundraising event for cancer survivors at Rofe Park in Galston. The girls provided 45 minutes of music which was performed to a very appreciative audience. Their repertoire included selections from the musicals Les Miserables, Matilda and Little Women and some popular songs. They were accompanied by Miss Alice Hanna. The Vocal Ensemble also performed and the audience were also treated to a solo performance by Laura Campbell (Year 11), who sang beautifully. This was a wonderful performance opportunity for the girls. A huge thank you to the 35 girls that committed to the event and to their very supportive parents.

AMEB Examination Results

Huge congratulations to Morgan Ridley- Smith (Year 11) who recently completed her Certificate of Performance on the Flute. This exam is the next level after Grade 8 and Morgan was awarded an A+, a very rare distinction for such a high grade. Morgan is studying Music 2 for her Higher School Certificate next year and is a member of the Orchestra and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Morgan studies the Flute at school with one of our Flute tutors, Adrienne Alexander.

Congratulations also to Clodagh Bray (Year 10), who was awarded an A (Honours) for her 6th Grade Violin Exam and to Lauren Cooley (Year 9), who was also awarded an A for her 3rd Grade Violin Exam. Both Clodagh and Lauren are members of the Orchestra and Chamber Strings and are learning the violin at school with Lindsay Irik.

These are excellent results and a testament to the hard work that is required to complete these exams.
